FOCUSED TOOLS, ON THE PAGE

The changes your PDF needs.

Edit existing PDF text

Click a supported text line and type in its original position. Folio replaces that text in the PDF content, preserving its size and color where supported.

Add text and images

Place new text, PNG or JPEG images on a page. Move additions and adjust text size, color or image width from the toolbar.

Draw a signature

Draw with a mouse or touch, then place the signature image on a page. This does not create a certificate-based digital signature.

Organize your pages

Reorder, rotate or remove pages. Undo and redo changes as you review the PDF preview.

How to edit a PDF
with Folio

Open the editor
  1. Open a PDF or use the demo.

Choose a PDF up to 8 MB and 50 pages. A fictional two-page proposal is ready to try.

  2. Make and review your changes.

Select supported original text to edit it. Press Enter to save or Escape to cancel. Add new elements or organize pages from the toolbar.

  3. Try the demo export.

Download the edited demo and open it in your PDF viewer. Exporting your own files is currently unavailable while sign-in and payments are being prepared.

KNOW YOUR FILE

Some PDFs need
a different tool.

PDFs store text in many ways. Folio reports unsupported text or missing characters instead of promising an exact result for every file. Review the preview before relying on an export.

  • PDF limits: up to 8 MB and 1–50 pages. Images must be PNG or JPEG, at most 2 MB and 4096 pixels per dimension, within 12 megapixels.
  • Text support: direct editing is limited to supported horizontal text. Some embedded fonts, rotated text and complex layouts cannot be edited. A compatible replacement font may be used, with a warning.
  • Scanned documents: no OCR. You can add new elements, but scanned words cannot be directly changed.
  • Sensitive or signed documents: Folio is not a secure-redaction tool. Editing a digitally signed PDF changes its signature validity.

Your document, with clear boundaries.

Editing runs in your browser, and drafts are saved on this device. Requesting a personal PDF export uploads its original file and edit snapshot to private server storage. Subscription checkout itself does not upload your PDF. Demo export sends the demo edits. Server access expires after seven days. Cleanup depends on the configured maintenance process; expiry does not guarantee immediate deletion.

PDF editor questions

Can I change existing words in a PDF?

Yes, when Folio recognizes a supported text line. Select it and type in place. The export replaces that original text rather than covering it with a white box. Unsupported text is marked with an explanation.

Is Folio free?

You can edit and preview without paying, and download the fictional demo free. Exports of your own PDFs are not enabled in the current preview. No payment is taken.

Do my files stay on my device?

Local editing and draft recovery use your browser. Personal PDF export is disabled in this preview. Opening and editing your own PDF uses your browser; downloading the demo sends only demo edits. Files are not included in public pages or this website's sitemap.

Can I use a scanned PDF or remove confidential text?

Scanned text needs OCR, which Folio does not provide. Folio also does not provide secure redaction. Use a dedicated redaction tool to remove confidential information.

Will the original font stay the same?

Folio uses the original font when supported and when the required characters are available. Some text needs a compatible substitute, and some cannot be changed. Check font warnings and the result.

What does a drawn signature do?

It places a signature image on the page. It does not certify identity, add a cryptographic certificate or validate an existing digital signature.
